Efficient usage of vegetal resources - March 2018
The activity took place as part of the Erasmus+ KA2 project “Efficient Usage of Natural resources”. The students were guided by the vice principal Rotaru Corina and the Biology teacher Ghețeu Mariela. At the University, professor Stanciuc Nicoleta presented our pupils the students and the professors’ concern to capitalize the “waste products” resulted after the the industrial processing of plant resources: seeds, barks, peels, etc. These ones are studied so as to obtain some dyestuff and flavours which would replace the chemical additives used in food industry. Thus it is confirmed the fact that there are no “waste products” but residues which can be used. Prof. Stanciuc Nicoleta suggested a cooking contest: students had to make muffins using powders obtained from pumpkin seeds, cherry stones and underbrush. Three groups of students participated. Every group chose their own recipe, followed the working stages and made the final product. After tasting and assessing the products, the winners were:
First place: the pumpkin flavoured muffin – Stan Oana-Elena, Iamandi Karina-Irina, Vlad Florin;
Second place – underbrush flavoured muffin - Rusu Andreea, Costandache Alexandra, Burtea Alin, Bocăneală Alex;
Third place – cherry flavoured muffin - Păun Teodora, Istrati Daniela, Șerban Gabriela, Dediu Vlad.
Students got prizes given by the Faculty of Food Industry and from the Erasmus+ project.
